Exclusively on draft last year, Saint Archer Brewing Co.’s Coffee Brown was one of the first specialty beers to come out of the new brewery, and it quickly became a fan favorite. After countless requests from retail accounts and the community, Saint Archer decided to bring the beer back this fall and add 22-ounce bottles to the packaging mix.
The Coffee Brown (6 percent ABV) will be in limited supply throughout the Saint Archer distribution network starting the week of September 29. This smooth ale stands tall with a backbone of Maris Otter, Chocolate and Crystal malts. Rich gets richer with the infusion of a special coffee from an award-winning local roaster using a cold extraction method that reduces bitterness and acidity. This noteworthy coffee bestows chocolate, dark fruit and blackberry jam characteristics for a truly unique beer that’s easy to drink and even easier to love.
Saint Archer’s Director of Brewing Operations, Yiga Miyashiro, is well-known for his talents in the malt-driven categories, including browns, porters and stouts. This aptitude is demonstrated by his international and national competition track record, with him medaling in many of these styles. “Combining coffee and beer is one thing,” he said, “but this particular coffee really complements the malts we’ve used here, making this a very special beer.”
