Exclusivity and novelty packaging can go a long way for the right craft beer, especially at holiday time. Lakewood Brewing tapped its 12th Anniversary Edition of Bourbon Barrel Temptress this week, and as a promotional bonus, they sold special 6 liter Methuselah bottles signed by founder Wim Bens for $300 — and sold out.
So yeah, this is the marketing idea of the week.
Lakewood Brewing Bourbon Barrel Temptress
Every winter, Lakewood selects the highest quality bourbon barrels to age its cherished Temptress. Nearly a year later, those barrels are emptied to create a unique vintage of BBT.
This year’s edition of Bourbon Barrel Temptress, exclusively available at the taproom, was nearly a year in the making. It was aged for nine months in oak bourbon barrels and has hints of vanilla, oak, toffee, caramel, and roasted coffee that intertwine for a boozy and dangerously smooth treat.
Available in a special commemorative two-pack and on draft, BBT 2024 showcases subtle nuances that enhance the rich character of Lakewood’s Temptress, Texas’ top-selling craft milk stout, resulting in a rich and delightful barrel-aged masterpiece.
Most notably known for its Temptress Imperial Milk Stout, Lakewood’s beer portfolio now includes year-round IPA’s, lagers, stouts, and popular seasonal offerings, all of which draw beer lovers to the Taproom at 2302 Executive Drive in Garland.
