What is trendier than the craft beer can? A nitro tap. OK then, what’s trendier than a nitro tap? If you said a nitro can, then you must have read the headline. During Q1 2016, be on the look out for Breckenridge Brewery’s new line of nitrogen-carbonated canned beer. The 16-ounce can presents the ability to experience silky, smooth nitrogen-charged beer outside of the pub, even taking that experience to the great outdoors.
Breckenridge will launch its Nitro Series in four-packs starting with Nitro Vanilla Porter (NVP) and Nitro Lucky U IPA, available year-round where Breckenridge beer is sold.
“Vanilla Porter and Lucky U were logical choices for rolling out this ground-breaking release for us,” said Todd Usry, brewery director. “We’ve built a fan base for both of these beers in recent years with nitrogen-infused draft releases. It’s time to put this beer on the shelves.” Later in the year, the brewery will begin rolling out a seasonal program in the nitro can package. The first release will be the fall seasonal expected to roll out mid-August.
“We are capitalizing on strengths with the release of Nitro Series, offering our consumers another way to enjoy our bestselling beer, Vanilla Porter and a new way to enjoy craft’s bestselling style, IPA,” said George O’Neill, director of sales. “The portability that our nitro can offers really opens the number of occasions in which the beer can be consumed. Those who enjoy the nitro experience no longer have to remain tied to the bar stool or pint glass.”
Breckenridge Brewery built a new home in Littleton, Colo., and moved primary production there this summer. Its new canning line will increase the brewery’s canning speed nearly 800 percent. This translates to larger volumes of its 12-ounce can offerings, including its sampler pack, and the ability to hit the market with nitrogen-charged 16-ounce cans.
