We’re impatiently waiting for Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co. to start distributing in Ohio, but until then we have some good news for our Canadian neighbors. In just eight weeks, the award-winning certified organic line of beers from Beau’s All Natural Brewing will be for sale in the province of Québec. “It’s been quite the process. It’s taken us eight years to get our beer selling 20 kilometers east of our home town of Vankleek Hill,” said brewery co-founder Steve Beauchesne. “We’ve been getting requests for our beer in la belle province since the very early days of the brewery, and we could not be more excited to see this finally happen.”
Beau’s flagship Lug Tread Lagered Ale will be the first to appear on the shelves of Québec’s private retail network, which include specialty beer stores, grocery stores, and dépanneurs (convenience stores). At the same time, Beau’s will also be popping up on tap at a selection of craft-friendly restaurants and pubs in Québec. Beau’s expects a total of about 100 points of sale will be confirmed and in place by the February launch. Key launch markets will include Montréal, Gatineau, and Québec City.
Sales and delivery of Beau’s in Québec will be offered through Transbroue, a Montréal-based distributor specializing in craft beer (www.transbroue.com). Québec residents should see prices for the Lug Tread 4-pack reasonably similar to Ontario pricing — as each retailer is free to set their own pricing, some minor variation in price is possible. Beau’s also intends to offer its rotating selection of seasonal beers in Québec, along with a curated selection of its complex, adventurous “Wild Oats” series creations.
“Beau’s is a most ‘Quebecois-style’ brewery,” said that province’s beer expert, Mario D’Eer. “Like their neighbours to the east, Beau’s has mastered the four major schools of brewing: German, Belgian, British and American. The Vankleek Hill brewery has developed original, high-quality beers that will be a welcome addition to the selections in Quebec.”
Beau’s will be supporting the launch of its beer into Québec with events in the three key cities. The first will be Gatineau’s winter craft beer festival Festibière, taking place January 30-31, 2015. Beau’s is the first-ever Ontario craft brewery to bring a full selection (8-10) of their beers to pour for Festibière attendees. As well, a handful of exclusive sneak-peek events at key retailers and craft beer bars will take place in the lead up to the official launch. More details of these events will be published by Beau’s in the coming weeks and months, leading up to Feb. 2015.
