Brauhaus Riegele, a 631-year-old, family-owned Bavarian craft brewery, has signed on with Sarene Craft Beer for distribution throughout the state of New York.
Sarene, which launched in 2013, is a highly respected craft beer distributor on the East Coast that’s renowned for being incredibly selective about the brands it represents. Founded by two brothers — Matt and Eric Schulman – the company focuses on quality over quantity, bringing in products that will appeal to discerning craft beer consumers.
“We are very excited to be partnering with Sarene and launching Riegele in New York,” stated David Klass, president of Luxe Brands, Riegele’s North American importer of record. “Sarene’s selective portfolio of exceptional craft beers and its dedication to the craft culture are remarkable in today’s mega-distribution environment. Sarene’s core values reflect our own, and we look forward to working with them.”

Founded in 1386, Riegele is acknowledged as one of Germany’s leading breweries in respect to quality and beer culture. It is located in Augsburg, in the heart of Bavaria, where roughly 30 different kinds of craft beers are brewed.
One of the most awarded breweries in Europe, Riegele won a dozen medals at this year’s Meiningers International Craft Beer Award, and its Riegele Augustus 8 was named the 2016 German Craft Beer of the Year. The brewery has also been: voted Europe’s Best Brewery at the European Beer Star and 2016 World Cup of Beer; named 2015 German Craft Brewery of the Year; awarded the prestigious DLG National Prize an unprecedented nine times in a row; and had its Commerzienrat Riegele Privat proclaimed 2010 German Beer of the Decade.
Riegele is under the direction of World Champion Beer Sommelier and 28th generation brewer, Sebastian Priller-Riegele, who believes that the fine art of brewing needs only three main ingredients: passion, dedication and knowledge.
Sarene will be distributing Riegele’s Privat, Augustus, Speziator and Kellerbier beers throughout New York. Riegele can also be found in Ohio, Indiana and Florida, with more markets to come, according to Klass.
