World of Beer launches the Ultimate Beer Quiz

As a craft brewer, you probably get countless questions about beer styles from the initiated. In fact, beer style education is likely a staple of your grassroots marketing. Retailers are also stepping up their beer-style education. Take a look at the latest news from World of Beer (WOB): From Oct. 13 through Nov. 9, WOB will celebrate the global world of craft beer and invite guests to take their brew knowledge to the next level with the Ultimate Beer Quiz. While beer appreciation is a central part of the WOB experience, this month the tavern is raising the bar with a national online quiz to increase the beer knowledge of novices and experts alike.

World of Beer Craft Education — A beer quiz? That sounds like a test we could actually pass. Educators across the country, take note.

“At World of Beer, we love helping our guests discover something new and learning about the stories behind our great global brews,” said World of Beer CEO Paul Avery. “That’s why we’re inviting our guests to take the Ultimate Beer Quiz and join us in the tavern where they can learn more about the craft beer world just around the corner.”

Expert craft brewers from around the world, including Dogfish Head Brewery, Cigar City Brewing, the VP Brewery , Brewery Ommegang, Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Co., Stone Brewing Co. and Duvel Moortgat Brewery, will pose a series of video questions in an online quiz challenging beer lovers to test their craft beer IQ. Topics will range from beer basics to those only a true craft beer aficionado could answer. Those who graduate to the 301 level test with a perfect score will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win a $500 WOB gift card. Celebrating the popularity of craft beer and its culture, WOB taverns feature 500 bottled beers and more than 50 on tap, rotating taps daily, so guests will discover something new and unique on every visit. Brewery nights and spotlights, along with other beer-centric educational events, are a regular part of every WOB location. Each WOB team member completes a two-week course covering all that the world of craft beer has to offer so they can help guests learn more about the beers and the stories behind them, from Pilsner to Porter, from Schwarzbier to Stout.
