Hey, the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewEXPO America is right around the corner, taking place in Nashville from April 30 to May 3. The trade show floor gets bigger and bigger every year, and to save you some time, we reached out to the exhibitors for a sneak peek of what they will be showing off at their booths this year. Stay tuned for the entire “What to see at CBC 2018” series over the next few weeks. It’s a great way to plan out your expo hall path and save some of that walking around time for drinking.
Pro Chiller
Booth 1900
Along with introducing its newest TCC Total Cooling Control at the 2018 Craft Brewers Conference, Pro Chiller will be displaying its new LOW GWP Chiller Model which was added to its V Piston Line. This series provides the lowest Global Warming Potential in the industry, rated about 1/3 of standard systems serving this market. What’s exciting about the LOW GWP System?
- R449a refrigerant
- Friendlier global warming potential (1,397 vs. 3,922 with R404a)
- Non toxic and non flammable
- Similar capacity and components to R404a
- Suitable use for EPA end use classifications which are impacted by new and pending regulations
Aquatherm Polypropylene Piping Systems
Booth 3000
Aquatherm offers clean, green polypropylene piping systems for a variety of applications throughout the brewery, including glycol lines, domestic water, heating and cooling, reclaimed water and carbon dioxide lines. Aquatherm’s polypropylene pipe is durable, chemically inert and has an estimated 60-year lifespan. It won’t react with water or most dissolved chemicals in the water. This prevents corrosion, scaling and erosion, the three major causes of long-term piping failure. And unlike copper, steel or the glues used in some other piping systems, Aquatherm pipe won’t leach any trace chemicals into the fluids it carries or the surrounding environment. The heat fusion process used to install the pipe ensures virtually leak-free connections, and when installed by a properly trained installer it is backed up by a 10-year multimillion-dollar warranty.
Its piping systems also are designed to be environmentally compatible. There are no toxins or VOCs associated with installing the pipe, it requires much less energy to produce than metals and it is completely recyclable when the system is no longer needed. Aquatherm has been selected for use in brewing establishments throughout the United States and Canada because it provides brewery owners and operators with a better product, peace of mind and in many cases total installed cost savings versus traditional piping systems.
Rite Boilers
Booth 2057
The good news for the CBC 2018 is that very little has changed with Rite Boilers. Rite has been manufacturing a complete line of low and high pressure steam boilers for nearly 70 years and its record of reliability and maintainability is unequaled. Rite Steam boilers range from 3 to 300 hp, and it offers everything you need for simple, efficient and economical steam production including — stack dampers for energy conservation, boiler feed systems, blowdown tanks, condensate transfer units, water softeners, chemical treatment, boiler stack, automatic time surface blow-down systems and CIP heat exchangers. Its boilers fire on natural gas, propane and diesel fuels and low NOx burners are available. It does custom finishes, skid packages and outdoor models and is the only boiler with full waterside access, allowing the user to maintain brand new efficiencies for the life of the boiler.
Cambrian Innovation
Booth 1314
Cambrian Innovation provides holistic process water treatment and resource recovery solutions and services to some of the top names in the craft beer industry, including Lagunitas, Bear Republic and Russian River. Cambrian’s consultative approach to solving critical water, process water and energy management challenges — from audit and planning to implementation and long-term operation of an onsite solution — allows them to help breweries of all sizes save money and reduce environmental footprints.
Whether you’re a small, startup craft brewery or a large brewery expanding production, Cambrian Innovation can help. Stop by booth #1314 at the Craft Brewers Conference and ask its team any questions you may have about water and process water management at your brewery.
Kilfrost
Booth 2153
Kilfrost specializes in safety critical chemistry and maintains a proud focus on pioneering the next generation of products to raise industry standards. The company has developed a range of Advanced Low Viscosity heat transfer fluids, including ALV Plus, which for the first time gives breweries a fluid that’s highly efficient and non-toxic.
Compared to existing fluids, Kilfrost ALV Plus is NSF/FDA food-safe accredited and has excellent low viscosity performance at temperature extremes. It offers substantially lower resistance to low temperature slushing. ALV Plus brings significant energy savings because it requires less pumping energy and offers fewer pressure drops in existing systems. ALV Plus is already in use at craft breweries and is quickly building a reputation as a cost efficient, environmentally-friendly and low-risk heat transfer fluid for the food and beverage industry.
