We found a lot of cool stuff at the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America in Nashville May 1-3. In fact, we’re still sifting through all the interviews and are currently compiling a lot of cool technology-focused features which we’ll release over the next few months. One of my favorite booth visits at the show was with the infrastructure experts at Aquatherm, a company that specializes in polypropylene-random (PP-R) piping systems.
What’s interesting about a pipe? … you ask, being the internet naysayer that you are.
PP-R pipe is super durable, chemically inert and has an estimated 60-year lifespan, for starters. It won’t react with water or most dissolved chemicals in the water. This prevents corrosion, scaling and erosion — the three major causes of long-term piping failure. And unlike copper or steel, PP-R won’t leach any trace chemicals into the fluids it carries or the surrounding environment. Also, PP-R is great with hot and cold applications, which is why a lot of breweries use it for glycol lines, domestic water, heating and cooling, reclaimed water and CO2 lines.
I took a few minutes to talk to Aquatherm Sales Manager Mike Engle in the video above. He had some solid knowledge to share. After watching the video, dig the Aquatherm features below and learn more about this unique infrastructure solution.
