Long Trail Brewing Co. is named after a 273-mile hiking trail system (the Long Trail) that traverses the beautiful Green Mountains, splitting through the heart of Vermont. Like this famed “footpath in the wilderness,” the character of Long Trail’s beers are equally at the core of Vermont’s untamed culture. After a day of climbing craggy peaks covered in alpine sedge and hardwood forests, I would imagine a tallboy can of Long Trail beer is probably in order (it was the last time I snowshoed in the Green Mountain State).
The Vermont Double IPA described in the video above would fit that bill. Long Trail Head Brewers Ian Harbage and Sam Clemens crack open a couple Vermont Double IPAs to discuss this brand new 16-oz can release. If you like the VT IPA (a hazy, hoppy style coming from the Green Mountains), this is a bigger, bolder version. Pairs well with alpine ecosystems.
