A jockey box is an insulated container containing ice and water, used to cool beer being served on tap in temporary locations like beer festivals. It’s a simple device, but not simple enough where you can’t F it up. We’ve seen it all — empty CO2 tanks, broken couplers, leaking lines, no washers, foamy beer or no beer at all (ha!). Founders Brewing Co. is here to help. The company’s Education Department explains how to pour draft beer away from the taproom via jockey box. Take it away Marklyn and John … and then read this fab story on Five key concepts craft brewers should embrace at beer events.

Wow, totally wrong. His first mistake is all his lines are frozen. Second is that 22 psi will work a hell of a lot better than 12. Coil? Plate? Doesn’t matter, they are all “restriction” line. Try to push beer through a 100′ coil and, eventually, you will get ALL foam. Good luck!
