An array of iconic breweries launched 25 years ago when fewer than 1500 breweries graced the American craft beer scene. With nearly 9,000 breweries currently operating in 2021, the “Class of ’96” stayed true to their pioneering values while keeping innovation at the heart of their efforts. These renowned “Class of ’96” breweries come together for a 25th Anniversary event unlike any other at The Walnut Room (3131 Walnut Street, RiNo District, Denver) during the Craft Brewers Conference on Friday, Sept. 10. The participating breweries include Firestone Walker, Shmaltz, Bear Republic, Two Brothers, Coronado, Victory, Stone, Iron Hill, Original Sin Cider, Thirsty Bear, Lake Placid, BJ’s, and others.
“The craft beer revolution has been an innovative and delicious rush that has afforded little time for introspection,” said Bill Covaleski, Founder/Brewmaster of Victory Brewing Company. “Our ‘Class of ’96’ has always been leaning forward but for one night we might just savor the moment, and the accomplishment, with a beer… or, several.”
The “Class of ’96” 25th Anniversary Bash will feature upwards of 25 beers brewed by these lauded craft breweries who are releasing commemorative specialty beers to mark this incredible milestone. Owners, founders, senior level executives and sales teams from the “Class of ’96” breweries will be onsite at The Walnut Room to ring in their 25th year of brewing exceptional releases that have elevated the craft brewing industry into what it is today. The “Class of ’96” 25th Anniversary Bash honors brewers that broke new ground in the mid-1990s and blazed new trails for the next generation of breweries – and continue to do more and more! The event invites all members of the craft brewing industry from the Craft Brewers Conference and serves as a welcoming and safe environment for all members of the community.
“Crazy – It’s been 25-years?” says Mark Silva, Co-Founder of ProBrewer. “There’s a myth of the self-made-overnight-success story that we’re pleased to dispel by honoring pioneers whose inspiration, passion, grit and talent enabled these brewers to succeed against all odds. It’s awesome to celebrate brewers who launched such passionate dreams when we founded ProBrewer. Can’t wait to tap their anniversary brews for an epic night honoring their pioneering spirit and transcendent craft.”
