Craft Credo No. 2: Serve your community first. Craft Credo No. 4: Embrace philanthropy. Summit Brewing Co. in St. Paul, Minn., is embracing both of those hokey, heartwarming, CBB-created craft philosophies in its latest business move — and at the same time creating a clever way to market its products to outdoor-oriented sports lovers (who are often known to drink some beers). The brewery recently announced a partnership with the Adult Hockey Association (AHA), a Minnesota-based amateur adult hockey association for men and women. Since 2001, the AHA has been fostering “safe, fun competition for adults who want to play no-check, you-can-still-go-to-work-Monday hockey.”
Just “check” out this video Summit Brewing produced. It’s a great little ditty (someone even makes a homemade Zamboni in it). From the company’s website:
The AHA announced the partnership to their own members during their annual Captain’s Meeting February 7 at Summit Brewing. Also announced at the Captain’s Meeting was the AHA’s 2017 schedule, which includes the Winter Playoffs in early April, the Twin Cities Classic in early October, and the Duluth Classic in late October.
“We have been fortunate to receive support from Summit Brewing for quite some time at our local tournaments,” says David Swenson, Executive Director of AHA. “We are very excited to see the relationship evolve to the next level, just like AHA tournament participants look forward to that ice-cold Summit after their games.”
Man, we like that local beer/sports combo — something for other craft breweries to think about when sponsoring a good cause in their neighborhood.
