In “Beers to Know” this week we have non-alcoholic variety, summer time lagers, award-winning ciders, and a classic West Coast IPA.
Following the success of Shiner Beer’s first-ever non-alcoholic brew, Rode0 Golden Brew, the independent Texas brewery is rolling out a few more NA brands in a new variety pack. Let’s meet the new beers:
- Shiner Rode0 Golden Brew: Styled after a classic American lager. It offers crisp malty notes balanced by delicate esters and a gentle hop profile.
- Shiner Rode0 Red Amber: Styled after an Amber Ale. It offers a copper-red hue with toasted and caramel notes. It is malt-forward but balanced by gentle hopping.
- Shiner Rode0 Citrus Wit: Styled after a Belgian Wit. It features a sweet, fuller-bodied profile with notes of orange zest. It’s non-alcoholic with a depth of flavor and a crisp finish.
Indeed Brewing Brightens our day with sea salt and lemon
Citrus and salt are a match made in beer heaven, with salt enhancing the punchy tartness of lemon flavors. Indeed Brewing Co.’s Brightside Sea Salt and Lemon Lager is back for another summer of fun. Bright and light at an approachable 5.2% ABV, this limited release is now available on draft and in 6-packs of 12 oz. cans across Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Minnesota.
In Brightside Sea Salt and Lemon Lager, a light and crispy pilsner malt plays nicely with citrusy notes of Tradition hops. Special additions of lemonade extract and sea salt take this lager to the next level.
“There’s a reason many of us saw our grandpas put a pinch of salt into lager beers,” said Ryan Bandy, Chief Business Officer at Indeed Brewing Company. “Salt intensifies the other flavors in Brightside, making the lemon zestier and the subtly sweet lager even more crisp. It’s the perfect beer to make the most of a Midwest summer.”
With whimsical and summery can art, Brightside Sea Salt Lemon Lager is bright and flavorful inside and out. Just in time for longer days, warmer weather and a splash of optimism. Pairs perfectly with sun on your face, friends by your side, backyard barbecues, and patio hangouts.

“We’re honored to be recognized by CiderCraft among the best cider producers in the world,” said Andrew Blake, Founder and CEO of Blake’s Beverage Company. “Cider is so diverse and the industry is growing rapidly as the 4th category expands to include fruit-forward beverages and a variety of innovative flavors.”
Original 40 with an ode to the West Coast
San Diego’s The Original 40 Brewing Company, voted as Best Brewpub 2024 by readers of San Diego Magazine, today released Left Coast West Coast IPA on draft and in four packs of 16-oz cans. Left Coast is 7.0% alcohol-by-volume (ABV), and it was brewed with Amarillo, Chinook, and Simcoe Cryo hops.
“You can never have enough good West Coast IPAs,” said Original 40 Founder Steve Billings. “The can artwork pays tribute to San Diego’s endless summer and the majestic sunsets we see so often.”
The medium light bodied beer has aromas of tropical fruits with underlying pine and dankness. It finishes with flavors of grapefruit and other citrus notes.
“’Left coast is the best coast so we named a beer after it even though it might be a little redundant for the style,” said Brewer Steven Terán. “We left it all on the line for this one and we believe we did it right.”
