Last year, the owners of Revision Brewing Co. in Nevada became partners with a local business in the downtown Riverwalk District of Reno called Pignic Pub & Patio. In February 2019, the partners announced that the Revision Brewing Taproom was open in the upstairs portion of Pignic’s Pub. Now, Pignic Pub & Patio and Revision Brewing are looking to launch a new restaurant in the form of a custom-built, permanent kitchen trailer, called The Pig Shack Eatery.
The new restaurant utilizes a pantry kitchen built in the basement, along with a grill yard (wood smokers, ceramic charcoals and gas grills), as well as fresh herbs, veggies and fruits found in our Pignic’s edible gardens, specializing in Creole to Southern soul.
The Pig Shack Eatery is launching in partnership with Revision Brewing Co. owners who invested in the project in June 2018. The Pig Shack Eatery will feature a “Choose Your Own Adventure” menu with selections for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch. A slow scramble with brisket and collards? Why not! How about an omelette of Cuban fried pork and mac n cheese? Perhaps something traditional — Cajun shrimp with cheese grit cakes and a side of ham hocks and peas. You’re the head hoss at The Pig Shack! The new restaurant will also feature a Build Your Own Burger Menu, paying homage to the original hamburger sandwich invented in New Haven, Connecticut at Louis’ Lunch. Finally, The Pig Shack Eatery will serve up these southern delights in the form of non-traditional tacos for Thursday, Frida, and Saturday evening service, including a Sunday Supper Club – Family Style Dinner.
Opening Day will be Saturday, Aug. 24, and the grand opening will be Saturday, Sept. 7.
Located in a two-story 1916 Craftsman home on the hill just south of Wingfield Park, Pignic Pub & Patio offers a truly unique experience for patrons in an establishment known for its charm. Pignic Pub & Patio brings people together by offering a fine-tuned craft beer lineup and specialty cocktails with regular live music in what is literally a living room setting. The side yard has a variety of grills and an edible garden. The atmosphere is much like hosting friends at your home, creating a community vibe, especially for the occupants of the patio-less apartments and condos throughout the city.
