Maui Brewing Co. continues to surf success while rolling over waves of growth. In 2005, the brewery opened its doors. In 2006, its facility in Lahaina started production. In 2007, Maui Brewing cans became available. In 2008, a remolded brewpub opened and its beer debuted in California. In 2009, the brewery doubled its production with another expansion in Lahaina. In 2013, Maui Brewing announced a new brewery in Kihei, Maui. In 2016, it expanded its new production facility (increasing capacity to nearly 100,000 barrels) and it revealed its whole new brand transformation, which looks awesomely tropical.
We’re sure there was a lot of other cool stuff in between, but here’s another solid move to add to that win list. Maui Brewing has announced distribution plans to the Midwest, partnering with Cavalier Distributing for Indiana and Ohio (CBB is in Cleveland, so fuck yes!). Beginning the week of July 4 (last weekend!), Cavalier began distributing draft and package versions of Maui’s flagship beers, including Bikini Blonde Lager, Big Swell IPA, Coconut Hiwa Porter and Pineapple Mana Wheat, as well as seasonal and limited releases as they are available.
“Maui Brewing Co. is excited to be partnering with Cavalier Distributing and expand into Indiana and Ohio. We’ve received many requests from Midwest fans, and we are happy to be able to share our Hawaiian beer with them,” said Pete Scheider, MBC’s national sales manager.
The expansion will allow MBC to evolve into a craft beverage company with plans to distill spirits as well as produce craft sodas, ciders and meads.
