Fresh off its two-year anniversary party last week, Ill Mannered Brewing Co. has announced a planned expansion set to break ground this fall. The brewery will be partnering with DJCF Holdings LLC to develop and build a new brewery and taproom just east of its existing location, adjacent to its current parking lot. It’s going to be cool.
The expansion will include a 1,500-square-foot taproom with seating for 50, an expanded menu including guest drafts, wine and spirits, an outdoor space with additional seating and a fire pit and a larger production space with expanded capacity.
“This project has been a long time in the making,” said Tom Ayers, head brewer and co-owner at Ill Mannered. “We’ve been searching for a larger location since shortly after we opened and began working on this location about six months ago. Our goal has always been to stay in Powell and find a place suited for long term growth. The City of Powell and our current landlord, Matt Franz at DJCF Holdings, have both been strong supporters in helping make this happen. We are thrilled to have everything in place to break ground this fall with an eye towards opening in mid to late 2018. With the larger space we are looking to carry over our small brewery look and feel while providing our guests with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy everything we have to offer.”
The brewery will continue to host food trucks with a dedicated space for drive-up patio service, along with small bites in the taproom. In addition, the brewery plans to grow its barrel aging program, add bar games, launch brewery tours and host private events. You can keep track of Ill Mannered’s expansion on their Facebook page.
