We love a good craft beer sports sponsorship. Tempe’s own Huss Brewing Co. is partnering with Arizona State University to serve as the Official Craft Beer for all Sun Devil Athletics for the 2025-2026 season and beyond. On the way are several new ASU themed beers — proceeds of which contribute to the Sun Angel Collective NIL fund — as well as a dedicated craft beer taproom inside Mountain America Stadium — the Huss Hideout.
“The ASU community has always supported Huss Brewing, ever since we started in a small warehouse space in south Tempe 12 years ago. So as Arizona’s premier craft brewer, we’re beyond excited to partner with Sun Devil Athletics on this exclusive collaboration for ASU fans and locals alike,” says Leah Huss, Co-founder of Huss Brewing Co. “As a family-owned craft brewery founded right here in Sun Devil country, we are excited that Sun Devil students, alumni and fans will be able to enjoy custom-crafted, team-branded beers as they cheer on Sparky and crew all year long.”
As mentioned, proceeds from beer sales will benefit the Sun Angel Collective, the fund for paying Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights for student-athletes at ASU. The organization provides resources and assistance to student-athletes that allows them to leverage their personal brands and ultimately profit from endorsement deals, sponsorships and other NIL opportunities.
Founded in Tempe in 2013 and still family-owned by Leah and Jeff Huss, Huss Brewing Co. is the state’s third largest brewery, while The Huss Family of Beers (Huss Brewing Co. and Papago Brewing Co.) has won multiple national awards, including the US Open Beer Championship. Besides its state-of-the-art brewery in South Tempe, Huss also operates the Huss Brewpub Downtown Phoenix.
Huss Brewing Devil’s Halo beers
Huss has crafted the all-new Devil’s Halo Amber Ale to serve at all Sun Devil spring sporting events. Huss’ Devil’s Halo Amber Ale was brewed up after many months of testing and tasting. Led by Huss Brewmaster Jeff Huss, this ale features notes of caramel and a bold malt backbone leading to a well-balanced finish.
Devil’s Halo Lager will serve as Sun Devil Athletics’ official craft beer, and will be at all Sun Devil athletics events, as well as retail stores and bars Valley-wide beginning in May. This is a classic German-style Helles Lager is the ultimate summer thirst quencher, offering a smooth, balanced flavor with a touch of subtle sweetness.
“We are thrilled to partner with Huss Brewing Company, a proud local business, to introduce a beer crafted by Sun Devils, for Sun Devils—launching this spring just in time for ASU baseball and softball season,” stated ASU Athletic Director Graham Rossini. “This fall, we’re also enhancing the fan experience at Mountain America Stadium, continuing to elevate Sun Devil Football game days.”
