In 2013, Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) is celebrating 25 years as Ohio’s original craft brewer. The brewery has much to celebrate. GLBC was ranked No. 19 on the Brewers Association list of the top 50 biggest craft breweries in the United States (based on beer sales volume). Today GLBC currently serves 13 states and Washington, D.C. and is nationally known for its exceptional family of beers including Dortmunder Gold Lager, Eliot Ness Amber Lager, Burning River Pale Ale, Commodore Perry India Pale Ale and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter.
But GLBC isn’t resting on its laurels. The Cleveland-based brewery announced its intentions to expand further into existing regions and continue investing in capital improvements in its Ohio City brewery. A summary of activities for the 2nd half of 2013 includes the following (drum roll, please):
