Nitro beer. The creamier cousin to the lively, fizzier, more popular carbonated-style of making beer. Typically using a mix of 70 percent nitrogen and 30 percent carbon dioxide, nitro beers give drinkers a smoother texture (nitrogen has smaller bubbles) and a big, cascading head that’s pretty much hypnotizing. Founders Brewing Co. has a solid nitro lineup, including an awesome nitrogenated raspberry ale called Nitro Rubaeus. Marklyn and John from Founders’ education team talk about the Nitro Rubaeus and nitrogenated beer in general in the video above. It’s worth a watch.
