You have questions, and the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) probably has those answers — in video format. Since February of this year, NBWA has been releasing its quick-and-easy, gorilla-style Ask a Beer Expert series via YouTube and its website. A consumer-focused question is posed and an employee of a beer distribution company, who must also be a Certified Cicerone, answers. The quality of the video is fair, but the info is solid and quick, and it’s a cool way for the NBWA to highlight its membership.
Why is foam important to beer? What is the IBU? What are the differences between East Coast and West Coast IPAs? Are there beers that will improve with age? Does god really exist? Most of those are answered below.
“We’ve had a lot of fun building the Ask a Beer Expert video series and getting to showcase beer experts in the beer distribution industry across the country,” said NBWA SVP of Communications and Public Affairs Rebecca Spicer. “Thousands of beer distribution employees are working in their communities to help brewers build brands and to help retailers meet the demands of increasingly sophisticated beer consumers. These videos provide a quick peek at just some of the men and women of the beer distribution industry and the knowledge they bring to local markets.”
The videos are shared on NBWA’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram) and featured in The Daily Brew email newsletter. NBWA also launched a new Cooking with Beer video series demonstrating how beer can be incorporated into tasty, yet simple recipes. The videos show how to cook beer-infused recipes with easy-to-follow instructions that appeal to the average home cook. Now, enjoy some videos.
