Craft brewers are always looking for inventive ways to grow. Deschutes Brewery is now offering an Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) to allow employees to share in the brewery’s success and advance the success of the company.
BeerPulse spoke to a Deschutes Brewery representative who said:
Employees will gain shares of the program based on time served with the company (back years of service are being honored).
…
While employees now own a portion of the company, founder Gary Fish and various family members control the majority of shares, maintaining their commitment to the long-term success of the brewery. Now, not only is the Oregon-based brewery family-owned, it is also employee-owned.
Deschutes Brewery was founded 25 years ago as a small brew pub in Bend, Ore. In February 2012, the brew pub expanded offering more space, more seats, more service and less wait times.
