OK, so “Eastern takeover” is probably a bit of an overstatement, but if you’ve been paying attention, the Oregon-based brewery has been steadily opening new markets throughout the East and Midwest this year. There was Ohio and Kentucky. There was Pennsylvania. There is Wisconsin this month and soon to be Michigan.

What: Bike Pub Crawl! With Deschutes Brewery
Deschutes Brewery is in town to celebrate its launch in Wisconsin and invites locals and visitors to join in the bike crawl fun. The evening starts at Machinery Row Bicycles and ends up at Dexter’s Pub. Each stop has special Deschutes Brewery beers and Hophead Beer Tours ride leaders will provide us all with safe passage.

What: Hats Off to Homebrewers! With Deschutes Brewery and Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co.
Attention homebrewers and beer geeks … come share your love for craft with the staff from Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. and Deschutes Brewery during this special event. Chat with brewers and sip on six samples (three from each brewery) out of your commemorative snifter along with a full pour at the end. Gather clone recipe cards and whole hop Cascades to use in your next homebrew (supplies are limited). But that’s not all.
Enjoy those beer samples paired with three gourmet Great Dane small plates and mix in a “Stump the Brewer” Q&A session, and you’ve got an amazing event. The Oregon brewery is also celebrating its 26th year of making damn tasty beer, so come on down and let’s help them celebrate. Tasty treats from a local food truck food will be paired with six of the brewery’s beers, including their limited anniversary Imperial porter, Black Butte XXVI. Original works of art inspired by “beer” and “Wisconsin” from local artists will be on display for a silent auction to benefit the Fernwood Montessori School. Round out the evening with a DJ spinning tunes and a raffle for some great swag, and you’ve got the perfect way to spend your Friday evening.
