First off, Dave Engbers, we respect the beard. Second off, we continue to crush on almost any video that comes out of Founders Brewing Co.’s production team (props to Steven Cummings, Founders’ multimedia specialist, and Rick Fortier, creative manager). The moving images above recount Founders’ troubled beginning, when the company almost went broke before it decided to remake its brand with bold beer that inspired the co-owners — brands like Dirty Bastard.
In 2007, Founders moved from the Brassworks building in this video to its current location on 235 Grandville Ave. Engbers and Stevens recently returned to the Brassworks location to reflect on the Dirty Bastard beer that helped the brewing business make the move. Stevens on walking into the old Brassworks: “I instantly felt like I owed people money.” The duo even brought the old bar from Brassworks to its new location. It’s another cool story about great beer from some of Michigan’s finest brewers, produced with the polish of a talented creative team. Cheers, fellas.
