Crown Beverage Packaging, North America, recently offered best wishes to a long-time metal packaging partner, family-owned Moosehead Breweries (Canada’s oldest independent brewery), on the occasion of 150 years in business, an anniversary that also happens to coincide with Canada’s own sesquicentennial. In 2017, Crown Holdings is celebrating its own 125th anniversary. Well done, everyone.
“Moosehead and the Oland family were the first true craft brewers, long before the craft beer segment we know today,” stated Ron Skotleski, director of marketing, North America, Crown. “The story of their history, and proud family tradition, are rooted in sheer perseverance, which is something to emulate and admire,”
“Moosehead is thankful for long-time partners like Crown for supporting our branding, marketing and sales goals through outstanding packaging, especially in a year of major commemorative rollouts,” noted Adam Reid, senior brand manager, Moosehead Breweries Limited.
Moosehead has many celebratory launches planned to mark its sesquicentennial, including a new limited release Anniversary Ale, a Canadian pale ale made with 100 percent Canadian ingredients sourced from throughout the country. Crown will be producing the 16-ounce can at its Batesville, Miss., plant. The brewery will also introduce new packaging for Moosehead Lager, a Moosehead Pale Ale expansion, and the reintroduction of grapefruit-based Moosehead Radler. Moosehead Lager will be packaged in a special edition anniversary can featuring the original Moosehead Lager logo with Crown producing the 12-ounce can in its Lawrence, Mass., plant and 16-ounce in its Batesville plant.
Crown Beverage Packaging will also be exhibiting at this week’s Craft Beer Conference in Washington, D.C. Visit them at booth 2462.
