Brooklyn Brewery is looking to hit it big with a broader audience by adding a reformulated premium lager to its core portfolio. Meet the crisp, bright and refreshing new Brooklyn Pilsner.
“Our new Brooklyn Pilsner is a classic golden lager based on American pilsners of the early 1900s and modern pilsners of northern Germany. It’s relatively light-bodied with floral hop aroma, a refreshing snap of bitterness and a quick clean finish,” describes Brewmaster Garrett Oliver, “This one is brighter, fresher and more drinkable than the original. It fits our current lifestyle, which is all about great flavor combined with drinkability. This is a beer that will be right at home at a barbecue, on a fishing boat, at the beach, or at a football game.”
Available in six-packs of 12 oz cans and via draft, Brooklyn Pilsner (5% ABV) is a golden lager that layers clean malts with a balanced wave of bright hops. It offers light toasty flavors and spicy, subtle citrus hop notes, and pairs well with everything from soft pretzels, hot dogs, grilled shrimp tacos or spicy green papaya salad to joyful noise and spontaneous adventures.
The design concept, which features that instantly recognizable yellow-cab color palette with graffiti-esque accents of water towers, music notes and more, was designed by the creative minds at Thirst Craft to celebrate the Brewery’s fun-loving ethos and to disrupt mainstream shelves around the world.
Miles Moser, Vice President of Sales explains, “We are incredibly proud of our brewing team’s ability to make some of the best lager beers in the world, especially Pilsners – which craft beer consumers want to see a lot more of right now. And while our original Brooklyn Pilsner was outstanding and always a fan favorite, our newly reformulated version is even better. The re-branded Brooklyn Pilsner is delicious and refreshing, and we’re excited to bring this new beer to market in time for the summer”
Redhook unleashes Lagersquatch
Lagersquatch is Redhook’s spin on an American lager by creating a sessionable new beer that combines traditional lager malts with hops and techniques that are more associated with PNW-style West Coast IPAs. Lagersquatch features original artwork from Boulder-based artist Dan Lehmen who puts a modern spin on the folklore of Bigfoot to create Lagersquatch: The beer you can believe in.
Lagersquatch prowls the Pacific Northwest in search of good times and friends to share beer. Always in his handcrafted mug is the beer that bears his name – a crisp and straightforward, yet flavorful and refreshing lager, born of the Pacific Northwest. If he finds you, and hope that the does, there’s no need to run.

Shiner says ¡Órale! with newest offering
Shiner introduced a new Mexican-Style Cerveza, ¡Órale! Crafted with premium 2-row malt and Lager yeast and brewed with agave, this beer features an earthy, mildly sweet flavor. ¡Órale! is also crisp and sessionable, pairing especially well with spicy, flavorful foods.
So what does ¡Órale! mean? It’s an authentically Mexican term that can be a greeting, a question, an affirmation or a call to action. In the case of ¡Orale! Mexican-Style Cerveza, it’s a rallying cry for an adventurous day or night out. It’s not a simple “yes,” but an enthusiastic “Hell Yes!” to the wild ideas, crazy schemes and incredible escapades that will take the ordinary into something completely unforgettable.
Mexican imports have had a decades-long run of growth in popularity, but the Shiner team says consumer preferences are now moving beyond just imports and into craft-brewed Mexican-style lagers, which are up nearly twofold in 2021. Shiner’s ¡Órale! is its unique spin on the category.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to combine my Mexican heritage with a Mexican style lager bearing the Shiner label and the Spoetzl Brewery’s commitment to quality,” says Carlos Alvarez, CEO of The Gambrinus Company in San Antonio, TX, who acquired the Spoetzl Brewery in 1989. “I know Shiner fans will enjoy ¡Orale! – a word that expresses so much in the Spanish language.”

Iron Hill Brewery with a nod to Mexican cervezas
Iron Hill Brewery is releasing the delightful Lemon Cerveza (5% ABV), a Mexican-style lager with a burst of fresh-squeezed lemon juice and lemon peel in 12 oz. six-packs throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The team says the warm weather beer inspired the turquoise hues and vibrant tropical colors on the can artwork featuring a laid-back beach on an island or Mexican paradise, transporting drinkers to summer from the moment they pick up the can with the bright taste of lemon.
“I originally brewed this beer for my wedding in Mexico as a nod to Mexican cervezas’ light and refreshing taste. Bringing it back in cans in time for summer has been an extraordinary experience,” explains award-winning brewer Pete Corbett. “The strong lemon notes of this lager transport you to relaxing on the beach.”
Dust Bowl Brewing’s first seltzer is a potent one
Dust Bowl Brewing Co. announced the launch of Thirty Three Hard Seltzer, a new brand and new product category for the Northern California company. Rolling out in Cherry Lemon Lime flavor, the new product line distinguishes itself with an 8% ABV, a higher alcohol level than most hard seltzers. Thirty Three Hard Seltzer comes in 19.2 oz single-serve cans and draft, and is targeted for sales in local retail chains, C-Stores and on-premise accounts.
“We produce a broad spectrum of beers and tend to be known for our higher strength offerings,” comments Don Oliver, Brewmaster. “We chose to play to our strengths and set our seltzer apart from the mainstream with a higher ABV and focus on the single-serve and draft packages. The Cherry Lemon Lime recipe was popular with our brewing team and very well received in our taprooms.”
The “Thirty Three” branding refers to 1933, the year prohibition ended. The eye-catching but simple label features the tagline, “Celebrating Repeal Day Every Day” as an added layer of brand messaging for the seltzer. The Cherry Lemon Lime flavor comes from a hand-crafted blend of cherry and Meyer lemon juice concentrates coupled with natural flavors. The result is a light, refreshing hard seltzer with just a hint of pink color in the beverage.
