BrewDog celebrated its Las Vegas grand opening over the weekend with a ribbon-cutting with Clark County Commission Chair Jim Gibson, a million-dollar bar tab giveaway and a rooftop rock concert.
Yes, as we reported in October, one lucky guest at this party would be selected for a $1 million dollar bar tab. This could be why a queue of approximately 1,000 guests built up on Friday night to enter the all-new BrewDog on the Las Vegas Strip.
Leading up to the $1 million dollar bar tab prize, BrewDog raffled off a variety of prizes, including a $100 bar tab, an epic dinner for four and a stay at BrewDog’s hotel, DogHouse—the world’s first craft beer hotel, located in Columbus, Ohio.
The lucky guest, Jeffrey Appleby of Las Vegas, received this prize via oversized check (of course), presented by BrewDog Founder and CEO James Watt.
Appleby jumped onto the bar to accept his prize before buying everyone at BrewDog a round of beers as the crowd chanted his name, “Jeff, Jeff, Jeff!” Wheelbarrows of Elvis Juice and other BrewDog favorites were distributed to the crowd, as Appleby spent over $27,000 of his million dollar tab that evening purchasing everyone on-site a round.
His winnings may be used at any of the 119 BrewDog locations around the world, including BrewDog hotels, for the next 20 years.
On Saturday evening, BrewDog hosted a free rooftop performance from rock band, We Are Scientists.
Located on the third and fourth floors of the Showcase Mall on Las Vegas Blvd., BrewDog Las Vegas offers 360-degree views of The Strip, a menu with Vegas-exclusive bites, 96 taps featuring BrewDog brews, local favorites and non-alcoholic options, retro arcade games and more.
BrewDog’s standout feature is a 30,000-square-foot rooftop bar with extraordinary views of The Strip. Unique to the location is a custom-fabricated 30-foot illuminated sign set atop the fourth-floor rooftop. As the name suggests, BrewDog is dog-friendly, complete with K9 hydration stations and treats for furry friends.
