Baderbräu Brewing Co. has a new head brewmaster: Nathan Tertell. Revitalized in 2012, Baderbräu Brewing is known for its Chicago Pilsener, as well as seasonal varietals like Lawnmower Lager, Naked Selfie, Oktoberfest and Red Velvet.
Founded by longtime homebrewer Rob Sama, Baderbräu Brewing Co. continues to evolve and expand its name in the Chicagoland area. Baderbräu Brewing’s headquarters is a 25,000-square foot brewery located in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood that will open in 2015.
Tertell comes to Baderbräu Brewing from the Lagunitas Brewing Co., where he helped launch their 1.2 million-barrle (bbl) Chicago brewery. Prior to Lagunitas, Tertell worked at Two Brothers Brewing Co.
At Baderbräu Brewing Co., Tertell will oversee all brewing packaging and quality control for the company.
“I am pleased to welcome Nathan to our team,” Sama said. “With his experience and wealth of knowledge in the beer industry, his expertise and creativity will be pivotal for our brand as we open our brewery later this year and expand throughout the Chicagoland areas.”
Baderbräu Brewing Co. plans to open its brewery and taproom in the South Loop neighborhood later this year. The brewery also features a 20-hectoliter mash filter system, the first of its kind in the Chicagoland area.
