For craft brewers, PACK EXPO is an opportunity to blend the art of brewing with the science of packaging. The beer sector continues to evolve and consumer expectations are constantly shifting, so staying abreast of packaging innovations can make or break a craft brewer’s distribution plan — a tough channel to navigate these days. PACK EXPO is one of the premier packaging and processing events in the world, and it holds particular significance for craft brewers looking to upscale, optimize or gain insights into industry trends and the variety of products available under the packaging umbrella — beer cartons to craft canning lines.
In fact, attendee registration for PACK EXPO East 2024 just opened. This show is slated for March 18-20 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, according to show producer PMMI — The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. Now in its sixth iteration, the three-day event is looking to match up to the success of PACK EXPO Las Vegas, which was the largest packaging and processing trade show in North America in 2023. PACK EXPO East returns to Philadelphia after a record-breaking 2021 that featured its largest show floor to date. The 2024 event has expanded to an additional hall to accommodate the increasing number of exhibitors.
There will be plenty to see for craft brewers. With 400 exhibitors, attendees gain the best of both worlds — the ability to see a comprehensive range of packaging and processing technologies while still having time for productive, in-depth discussions with vendors to solve pain points and address challenges. On the tradeshow floor, beer-centric products will range from equipment like canners, seamers and palletizers to packaging options like cartons, gift boxes and can rings. There’s labeling, quality control and a great emphasis on sustainability at the show. There’s also great networking opportunities. Beyond the machines and materials, PACK EXPO proves invaluable time for relationship building. Brewers can forge ties with packaging material vendors, equipment manufacturers and ancillary service providers. Look at these folks!
PACK EXPO is also a great venue to learn. Session topics will be available in early 2024 for this show, but in the past seminars and roundtables have focused on everything from AI to ecofriendly packaging. With its centralized location, PACK EXPO East is a great opportunity for whole brew crews to make a day trip and discover the latest tech and innovations in the packaging side of the business. It’s not crazy expensive either: Registration is $30 through Feb. 23, $130 thereafter. For more information and to register, visit packexpoeast.com. From the press release:
“PACK EXPO East will be one of the most comprehensive shows on the East Coast in 2024 with solutions available for a variety of markets,” says Laura Thompson, VP trade shows, PMMI. “We have a prime location that is easily accessible from throughout the Northeast and an easy to navigate show floor that allows quality time for discussions and finding innovations that meet your business needs.”
