Back in 2022, Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. leadership told CBB they wanted prioritize on-premise sales and taproom expansion vs. high production volumes and wide distribution. From Jenna Ball, Neshaminy Creek CEO, in that piece:
Neshaminy Creek will still be a production brewery, but the aspirational growth plans are more in line with industry reality in 2022: “We are at a point where we are ready to grow and we absolutely want to expand our number of taprooms. I’d love to see us open several more tap rooms,” Ball says.
Taproom revenue is about 45 percent of the overall business. But of course, margin-wise, the taprooms are “quite nice, yeah,” as Ball says. Only 10 to 11 percent of overall production goes to the taprooms, so there is plenty of capacity to continue growing in taprooms. “We’re in this unique in-between space where we were built out initially for mass production, but then we incorporated the local taproom element, and I think we’re actually positioned to have quite an advantage because we can supply so many taprooms with what we can produce,” Ball says.
Well, cheers to Ball and the Neshaminy team as they open the doors to their third taproom this Friday at their new location in Harleysville, Pa.
Neshaminy Creek Harleysville Taproom
The Neshaminy Creek Harleysville Taproom is in a 3,100 sq/ft space inside a former Harleysville National Bank that was originally built in 1929, which is super cool. The space is the anchor of a larger 80,000 sq/ft campus called The Vault Town Center which features a number of other local businesses that provide a place where community, entertainment, dining, and drinking can come together.
While the project took longer than expected, Neshaminy Creek used that time to transform the dusty old bank into a warm and welcoming watering hole with hopes of becoming a staple for locals that have been supportive of the brewery since the new location was first announced.
Neshaminy Creek’s Harleysville Taproom will have 16 taps pouring some of the brewery’s classic beers like County Line IPA and fresh new releases like Yuzu’s Petals, a Holiday Ale brewed with Candied Yuzu Peel. Customers looking for something other than beer will also be able to enjoy local PA wine and canned cocktails.
Neshaminy Creek Harleysville will be open from 4-9pm Tuesdays through Thursdays, 12-11pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 12-7pm on Sundays after their initial opening on Friday, December 20th at noon.
