The Ohio Craft Brewers Association (OCBA) is now offering a resource to help job seekers find potential careers at Ohio breweries. This week, OCBA launched a new online job board to highlight open brewery positions across the state. Breweries are currently hiring for brewing and canning positions, delivery and distribution, facilities maintenance, kitchen staff, front-of-house service professionals and more.

Plans for OCBA’s online job resource began in late 2019 in a very competitive labor market with low unemployment. Now, with the economy beginning to adjust to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, breweries are seeking qualified applicants for a wide variety of jobs as they re-open to the public.
With the launch of this new job board, OCBA looks to show the breadth of career opportunities available in the brewing industry. Beyond the front line employees who serve customers at local taprooms, breweries also offer opportunities for job seekers with experience in manufacturing, sales, marketing, business administration, management and other skilled fields.
An encyclopedic knowledge of craft beer isn’t a prerequisite for most jobs in the brewing industry: many breweries offer education and training about beer for employees who are looking to advance a career in brewing.
OCBA also intends to use this new job resource to reach out to job seekers from communities that are underrepresented in brewing industry employment. OCBA recently formed an equity & inclusion committee to explore and enact ways to make the industry a welcoming environment for all people.
“We’ve created this free resource to help our member businesses find employees who are enthusiastic to work at a brewery,” said OCBA executive director Mary MacDonald. “Ohio breweries serve their communities in so many ways, including providing gainful, rewarding employment to people in their towns and neighborhoods.”
