Roberts PolyPro has new moisture-free handles
Booth 2744
When Roberts PolyPro began designing craft brew can handles two years ago, its team sought to develop a distinctive product. It wanted a handle that complemented unique beers and beer packaging, that held cans securely but were also easy to get off. Utilizing advanced computer aided design, Roberts PolyPro’s team iterated dozens of possible solutions until they came up with one that was unlike any handle on the market in terms of looks, performance and environmental advantages.
The new handles feature an open top design, which means moisture will not be trapped between the can top and handle — so no ick factor in taste or odor. The company reduced plastic content by 30 percent for benefits to the environment. These handles are made from recyclable HDPE, and nobody’s going to have a hard time separating the handle from the can.
Retailers love the way the handle colors and tab design draw the eyes of their store consumers. Brewers gain shelf differentiation. As soon as one brewery in an area starts using its handles, others do was well. Stop by the Roberts PolyPro booth #2744 at BrewExpo America and see for yourself.

Ska Fabricating has a new mobile depalletizer
Booth 2406
Ska Fabricating is showing off the Half Pint, a new Mobile Depalletizer that will begin shipping this spring. This is a true mobile depalletizer proven under mobile working conditions. The original design for this new depalletizer was purchased from Owen Lingley at Craft Canning and Bottling located in Portland, Ore.
The Half Pint mobile depalletizer is designed for mobile canners, breweries with tight space restrictions and equally tight budgets. There is little to no installation required making this depalletizer a great option for canning lines from 15 to 60 cpm, international breweries or breweries with tight budgets. It works with half high pallets of aluminum, plastic or composite containers. The depalletizer is very light and is a perfect match for breweries with multi use spaces or mobile canning operations. It is specifically designed for low clearance applications such as box trucks or low ceiling heights. It incorporates an automatic push bar which loads the containers onto a chute which feeds through a rinser to the filler. The unit is made of stainless steel and lightweight aluminum. It will be available with multiple power configurations and is CE compliant.
It is available for order now and will begin shipping this spring.
WaveGrip’s new entry level solution
Booth 314
Manufacturer of the innovative multi-packing solution, WaveGrip will be showcasing its latest entry level applicator as part of the Palmer Canning Systems stand at this year’s Craft Brewers Conference. Perfect for low volume producers the G1 Auto can create multi-packs of four, six or eight cans, with automatic pack separation and accommodates a full range of can heights at speeds of up to 100 cans per minute (cpm).
The low entry cost of just $18,000 and compact size of 55 x 31.5, make the G1 perfect for those at the earliest stages in drink production, especially for production at lower canning volumes, such as craft beer producers. Compatible with all WaveGrip carriers the G1 uses the standard WaveGrip reels, which can pack more than 3,000 six-packs and allows a run time of five hours at 60 cpm or three hours at 100 cpm.
Palmer Canning is producing the G1 and G2 variants of the WaveGrip applicator in the United States. Alongside the G1, Palmer Canning will be launching their latest canning system, CraftInLine, an In-line counter pressure can filler with ProPurge valve technology. The CraftInLine offers speeds of 25 cpm based on a 12-oz can size. By using a five-head filler with ProPurge valves provides a true purge to atmosphere for unagitated fills and low oxygen pickup. The small foot print of 84 x 36 x 84 makes it ideal for craft brewers while a version including a split frame for easy take down makes it the perfect choice for mobile canners.

PakTech can carriers stack more efficiently, plus new bottle design
Booth 2244
PakTech will be showcasing its environmentally responsible can carriers at booth 2244. Stop by, have a beer and learn about its 100 percent post-consumer recycled handles repurposed from milk jugs. Last summer, PakTech released its new can carrier design that is now easier to apply and easier to remove by the consumer. In addition to easier can removal, the company’s new handles stack more efficiently which allows them to fit 40 percent more handles into each box and onto each pallet. This reduces freight and waste which in turn equates to a substantial savings in shipping. The can carriers are available in a variety of configurations — including two-, three-, four-, eight- and 12-packs.
In addition, the company will also be showcasing its new bottle handle design. The bottle carriers feature a convenient built-in handle that extends above the line of the bottle caps and provides a secure hold for your favorite beverage.
