How does a craft brewery’s bottling line work, exactly? Every bottling line is a little different, but this bottling line video tour at Flying Fish Brewing Co. is pretty interesting and educational.
Everything from rinsers and fillers to accumulation tables and labeling is included in the cool video above. This is a run of Flying Fish Brewing’s Hopfish IPA, shot July 2013 in Somerdale, N.J., by Beer-Stained Letter. The filler is run at about 150 bottles per minute, and a typical run will put up about 1,500 cases of 12-ounce bottles. The bottles themselves travel along 250 feet of conveyor, going from empty to filled and sealed in case boxes. Pretty cool to watch.
