Cincinnati-based Fifty West Brewing Co. caught our collective eye when it announced the launch of a family-friendly 40- by 80-ft ice skating rink at its Fifty West Burger Bar back in 2020. The project is a cool partnership (sorry, had to do it) with Columbia Township, and now it’s back. Tickets are $10 tickets per person, which includes admission, skate rental and an hour’s worth of ice time. It’s also has some nice pandemic protocols: The rink will have a timed, hourly reservation system, accommodating a limited number of people at one time. Guests can purchase tickets through the online reservation system available right here and in-person if capacity allows. Children under the age of four can skate for free. From the press release:
“We want Fifty West to be a place you can come and make memories throughout the holiday season,” said Fifty West Founder Bobby Slattery. “We pride ourselves on providing a fun community hub to families and this rink helps our space bridge the gap between Fall and Spring.”
Other winter transformations at Fifty West include two large, heated clear span tents, an abundance of small fire pits including a large bonfire pit, a holiday light and decoration display and hot cocoa and cider for kids with boozy options for parents. Santa will also make an appearance: Fifty West secured Santa for four dates, giving families a chance to get yearly holiday photos, for a socially distanced Christmas experience. Kids can pose in front of Santa’s mobile workshop for a photo and chat with him while their photo prints. Expect Santa on campus at Fifty West from 4 pm-6 pm on Sat., Nov. 27, Sun., Dec. 5, Sat., Dec. 11 and Sun., Dec. 19.
“Bobby and Fifty West asked me to stop by and I couldn’t miss the chance to try the burgers I’ve heard so much about,” said Santa.
“Our partnership with Fifty West is a win-win to help our small businesses provide added value to the community through safe, family-friendly programming, like this ice rink, for the residents of Columbia Township,” said Columbia Township Trustee and President David Kubicki. “We couldn’t be more excited!”
To entice your attendance, enjoy some photos.
