Autonomous Society, a Dallas community brewpub founded by film and video veteran Dean Weaver, has seen remarkable growth and operational efficiency since partnering with hospitality technology company BarTrack two years ago. BarTrack’s Smart Draft System has been integral in transforming the brewery’s business, driving distribution success, minimizing waste, and optimizing overall profitability.
“The main reason we got BarTrack was to gain insights into our draft system and take control of waste. It has empowered us to make informed decisions about what we should brew, when, and how much,” said Weaver.
Autonomous Society Brewery has 24 taps in-house and a wide range of beer styles, so quality control, and operational efficiency are critical to their mission. BarTrack’s advanced monitoring technology has allowed the brewery to reduce waste to just 7%, significantly improving their overall efficiency to 93%.
Transforming Inventory Management and Brewing Operations
BarTrack’s solutions help ensure that each keg and tap is optimized for both quality and profitability. The app provides a “bird’s-eye view” of daily operations, allowing the team to monitor inventory, track performance, and adjust on the fly, no matter where they are. The ability to zoom in on hourly data enables the team to respond quickly to operational changes, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
This enhanced visibility into real-time data has also played a crucial role in their self-distribution efforts, which began just two to three weeks ago.
“BarTrack has been a game-changer in helping us achieve the level of quality and organization necessary for successful distribution,” added Weaver.
Empowering Staff
BarTrack’s technology also transformed the way Autonomous Society Brewery trains and incentivizes its staff.
By pulling weekly reports and reviewing them with bartenders, the team can see key metrics such as ounces poured, unaccounted pours, and overpours. This data-driven approach has been instrumental in staff training, promoting transparency, collaboration, and fostering healthy competition through an incentive program.
“The weekly reports are a very helpful tool for us. It’s not only about catching issues but about using it as a teaching tool for staff,” Dean explained. “It creates an environment of transparency, collaboration, and friendly competition, which motivates the team to strive for better performance.”
Improved profitability
With BarTrack in place, Autonomous Society Brewery is not only controlling waste and improving staff performance but also making significant strides toward profitability. The brewery’s operational efficiency has boosted both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability, allowing the company to focus on delivering an even better experience for its customers.
“Quality has always been key for us, but BarTrack has helped us ensure that quality doesn’t come at the expense of efficiency. With their support, we’ve been able to grow, distribute, and still maintain the standards that matter to our community,” said Weaver.
