Lord Hobo Brewing Co. recently announced that it has partnered with Spooky World to host its inaugural Lord Hobo Doom Run on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Wicked! A welcome darkness has fallen upon Lord Hobo’s Woburn taproom this season, and here’s another reason to visit — a sinister Halloween-themed 5K like no other.
“We are thrilled to be hosting another race in our Woburn Taproom,” states Kate Ballenger, Director of Customer Experience, “We had so much fun at our 6.17K Charity Run over these last two years that we wanted to bring the community together again this Fall for our Doom Run.”
Starting and ending at the taproom in Woburn, runners will enjoy a hauntingly fun course while dressed in their favorite Halloween outfits. The excitement continues after the race with a costume contest for both kids and adults, Halloween-themed games, music, and of course a celebratory Lord Hobo beer back at the brewery. Haunting Spooky World characters will even be roaming around the party to delight and scare. Each race registration will receive a code for $10 off tickets to this season’s Spooky World, open now.
Lord Hobo expanded its Boomsauce collection from the depths of darkness to create Doomsauce, the inspiration for this race. Pouring black as midnight, Lord Hobo has created a delicate malt backbone with a slightly sweet and remarkably clean finish.
“While Doomsauce was the inspiration for our Doom Run, Boomsauce is the real star of the show. We’ve taken our beloved flagship Double IPA and added a roasted dark malt to make a sinister Black Double IPA. Both beers will be available at the post-race party for the ultimate reward.” states Aubree Karls, Director of Marketing.
The race will start and end at Lord Hobo Woburn and will begin at 11 AM with post-race celebrations starting at 12 PM. A kid’s costume fun run will begin at 10:30 AM. For more information or to register, visit www.doomrun.com.
Lord Hobo Brewing Co., founded in 2015, was born out of a Boston craft beer bar. Now in its eighth year of operation, Lord Hobo continues to grow and bring innovative New England-Style beers to thirsty and dedicated fans. The brewery, located in Woburn, Massachusetts, is the nucleus of the company. Beginning with a small tasting room and only a handful of recipes, the Woburn Taproom now has a seating capacity accommodating over 400 patrons. Lord Hobo has also added a full kitchen and a beautiful outdoor patio. In addition to the Woburn taproom, Lord Hobo spans closer to the city with Lord Hobo Cambridge bar and the recent opening of Lord Hobo Seaport — a 3,500-square-foot brewery and restaurant located in downtown Boston.
Lord Hobo beers are currently available in 12 states throughout the Eastern United States with 15 wholesale partners.
