Last month at the World Beer Cup, Asheville’s Hi-Wire Brewing clinched won a silver medal for its Churro 10W-40 Imperial Stout (8% ABV) in the competitive Dessert Stout category at the Craft Brewers Conference. The 10W-40 Imperial Stout Series, ranging from Irish Coffee to Mudslide, this best-selling specialty series introduces a new variant every other month, continually keeping fans on their toes looking for that next unique flavor.
The award-winning Churro 10W-40 variant, a decadent blend of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and lactose, is currently available while supplies last on both draft and in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans across Hi-Wire’s 11 locations and its expansive nine-state distribution footprint.
In celebration of this international accolade, Hi-Wire has re-released its wildly popular Vietnamese Iced Coffee 10W-40 (8% ABV) starting May 3. Sought for its luxuriously creamy texture and rich coffee notes, this beloved variant is brewed with beans sourced from Asheville’s own High Noon Roasters, a gem founded by Hi-Wire’s long-time bartender alumna, Anna Beth Eason.

TailGate Brewery kicks off Wizards’ Order IPA series with Juice Wizard
Tennessee’s TailGate Brewery announced the launch of Juice Wizard IPA (6% ABV), the first release in TailGate Brewery’s rotating Wizards’ Order IPA series. It will be available at all eight of TailGate Brewery’s vibrant locations and at retailers across Tennessee.
As the first character to hit coolers across the state, Juice Wizard uses its powers for good. Embark on an epic journey with aromas of zesty orange and peach on a medium-light bodied IPA; then travel through an enchanted forest of flavor, characterized by firm bitterness and juicy flavors of citrus, mango and berries underpinned with resin and pine.
The new Wizards’ Order is a fellowship of rotating IPAs, each seasonal release offering a new flavor chapter from Nashville’s favorite independently owned craft brewery. No spoilers as to what will come next in the series, but fans can expect a new release with the advent of each season (every 90 days). The series continues with new character developments in August and November this year.

Iron Hill pairing releases summer beer to pair with Burger Month
Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is celebrating Burger Month with 31 unique burgers throughout May. The promotion, now in its 16th year, spans all 20 locations, with entries like Fried Green Tomato BLT Burger with cherry pepper mayo to the bold flavors of the Jalapeno Popper Burger with a Jalapeno cream cheese croquette, jalapeno pepper jelly, and chipotle aioli.

Iron Hill also invites fans to join in celebrating the creativity with a new May 31st Crowd-Sourced Burger Challenge to close out the month. Tröegs Summer of Sunshine variety pack is here
Tröegs Independent Brewing announces the release of its Summer of Sunshine variety 15-pack, a perfect companion for outdoor summertime adventures. Each Summer of Sunshine 15-pack is anchored by the Hershey, PA-based brewery’s bright and refreshing year-round staple, Sunshine Pilsner.
Rounding out the assortment are four beers exclusive to the pack. Returning are the crisp, clean Summer’s Here Lager as well as Perpetual Haze Hazy IPA. Also included are two brand-new offerings: Sunshine Salt + Lime Lager and Leisure Cruise Raspberry Wheat Ale.
Also available is Perpetual Exploration, a quarterly variety pack including four of the independent brewery’s most popular IPAs. Previously named Canthology, these seasonally rotating variety packs showcase the diversity of Tröegs’ year-round and seasonal beers.
Lone Tree Brewing is drinking Juicy IPA this spring
On the heels of the limited release of Hefeweizen, Lone Tree Brewing Juicy IPA just hit cans for the spring season. Find it on tap at both Lone Tree Brewing locations, on tap and in cans across Colorado, and in select locations in Kansas. Full-bodied, slightly dank, and entirely refreshing, Lone Tree Brewing’s spring seasonal Juicy IPA boasts 6.5% ABV and beautiful orange hues.
Lone Tree Brewing Director of Tasting Rooms Michael Webster explains that Juicy IPA is on par with the Colorado beer industry’s recent focus on the budding ‘Juicy IPA’ style arena that emphasizes a fruit juice effect over haze and often includes flavors of the Tropics. “Extensive data analysis spanning the past few years highlights the Juicy IPA as one of our most sought-after rotating beers within our tasting rooms,” he says. “Our dedicated brew team has experimented with various blends of hops, malts, and yeasts to hone this recipe; and the culmination of these efforts has resulted in an IPA distinguished by a pronounced citrus-forward aroma, perfectly complemented by the bold, juicy flavors of the hops.”

Empyrean Brewing teams with zoo for IP-Ape
Lincoln, Nebraska-based Empyrean Brewing Co. and the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium have collaborated to introduce IP-Ape Extra Pale Ale, a new beer featuring a smooth, tangy lemonade citrus finish. The ale is low in calories and carbs, with 110 calories and 4g of carbs per serving, and features orangutan-themed packaging.
IP-Ape Extra Pale Ale, will be available year-round in 16 oz cans at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, which hosts over 300 events annually. Other varieties from Empyrean Brewing Co., will also be served at the Zoo. IP-Ape will also be widely distributed in 4-pack 16 oz cans across all Empyrean Brewing Co. markets and retailers, as well as at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and surrounding zoos.
This collaboration coincides with the opening of the newly renovated and expanded Hubbard Orangutan Forest at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, which plans to open summer 2024.
