The Fat Cat Beer Co., makers of sessionable, handcrafted beer in cans, announced it received its California distributor and importer’s license and has started selling its products throughout the state. After achieving significant traction in Florida, Georgia and Virginia, the San Diego-based company that brews its beers in Wisconsin now brings its beer to its own backyard.
“We work closely with our distributors in our core business markets and really provide most of the brand building infrastructure. After speaking with some [California] distributors, we believed our brands, at least at this juncture, would be best served by our own people,” said Bruce Taub, president of The Fat Cat Beer Co. “Given that we are a San Diego-based business, this decision will enable us to proactively impact how we grow. It will also allow us to determine how we forge the relationships with our growing list of customers.
“We have a dedicated team of account managers who are extremely customer service oriented. They are placing our beers in some of the most popular places in San Diego with more than 80 accounts opened in less than 60 days,” Taub added.
