Just in time for the Halloween season, Empyrean Brewing Co. introduces a tantalizing addition to its limited collection, Spellcaster Sour Apple Ale, and the label rules! Just look at it.
“We’ve been brewing for over 30 years, and it’s still exciting to try something different,” says Jim Engelbart, Operations Manager. “Spellcaster is fun, a bit experimental, but it’s got the quality and taste people expect from us. It’s perfect for anyone who loves a good sour or is just looking to mix things up.”
This unique brew combines the tartness of sour apple with a hint of caramel malt, creating a flavor reminiscent of sour apple candy. Crafted with innovative techniques, Spellcaster is brewed using a novel yeast that naturally sours the beer during fermentation, complemented by apple juice concentrate to balance the sour profile.
Ben Matya, Sales Manager, adds, “Our customers have been asking for more sour options, and we listened. Spellcaster is our answer—crisp, refreshing, and a little mysterious. It’s a sour with a twist, more tart than fruity, and we believe it will win over even those usually skeptical of sours.”
Available in six-packs of 12 oz cans and on draft, Spellcaster Sour Apple Ale is a limited release that promises to cast a spell on your taste buds throughout the Halloween season.
Empyrean Brewing Co. has expanded into eight states since its founding in 1990. Empyrean currently offers eight core beers available year-round, a line of seasonal beers and a host of specialty and limited release beers.
