As the market leader for inks and color management solutions, INX International Ink Co. continues to be a knowledge resource for brand owners, printers, converters and designers. Three new training courses were recently added to INX University’s curriculum, the free online graphic arts eLearning resource exclusively for INX customers.
Since it was implemented nearly 10 years ago, INX University has proven to be the go-to source for ink-related and color management training education. Renee Schouten, Vice President of Marketing for INX, says the three new water-based ink training courses – Water Ink 101, Process Inks, and What is Color? – are entry-level sessions that set the stage for future professional development.
“INX University is a value-added service and a great opportunity for our customers to augment the skillset of their workforce using these educational tools. Each course can be learned at your own pace and training certificates are awarded upon completion. In addition to the online courses, INX also offers in-person training seminars.
“The Water Ink 101 course,” continued Schouten, “explains the ingredients, manufacturing, quality control and troubleshooting processes of water-based ink. The Process Inks session examines the reasons for using a separate Process set and basic troubleshooting. And What Is Color? delves into basic color theory, color adjustment, and the understanding of X-Rite Lab color readings.”

ICYMI: INX Color Catalog expands too
Announced at CBC 2024, a recent expansion to the INX Color Catalog now provides brand owners, metal decorators, design agencies and marketers with more ways to streamline the color management process. From concept design to the shelf, they are experiencing substantial cost savings and the benefits of brand consistency, color accuracy, and getting a product to market quicker.
“There have been so many positive developments since last year’s conference. We had about 350 of the color catalogs in the market a year ago and our market penetration continues to grow,” said Renee Schouten, INX Vice President of Marketing.
“It is now over 400, and I anticipate there will be greater interest since we recently added 28 new metal swatches to the 600-plus that were already available. More than 50% of the catalogs belong to brand owners, many of whom support the annual Colored By INX Can Design Contest that craft brewers have won in the last three years.”
The INX Color Catalog is a critical element of INX Color Perfection, the color management system that builds brand consistency and ensures color accuracy. Regarded as the only true color standard for metal decorating, it helps increase the shelf appeal of cans with consistent color available anywhere in the world.
