We’ve been celebrating a bunch of 10 year anniversaries in our Cheers to 10 Years Series. Just missing the arbitrary cut-off is one of my personal favs: Our Mutual Friend Brewing Co. (OMF). The Denver staple is celebrating 11 years of business on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at their taproom at 2810 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205.
OMF opened their doors in 2012 starting with a modest 31-gallon brew system and would later grow to a 10-barrel brew system along with additional equipment including oak foeders affectionately named Bert and Ernie and a couple of lagering tanks.
Once one of the few beverage establishments on Larimer, OMF would spend the next 11 years creating world-class beer using local ingredients and providing an inclusive space that welcomes creatives, locals, out-of-towners, brewers, and everyone in between.
“I feel so much gratitude for the support we have received these last 11 years,” says OMF Managing Partner and Co-Owner Brandon Proff. “It has connected us with so many people that have taught us so much about how to be the best brewery we can be.”
To honor this momentous occasion, the first 100 people (limit one per person) to order a beer on the day of the anniversary will receive a commemorative tasting glass. Additionally, the brewery will debut several specialty releases including a collaboration with WeldWerks Brewing Co.
The following anniversary beers will be available on December 16:
- Year Eleven – Belgian-Style Golden Strong Ale aged in Curaçao-finished Laws Whiskey barrels. Available in 375-milliliter bottles and on draft
- This is a Birthday IPA – Hazy IPA hopped with Azacca, El Dorado, and Strata hops. Available in 16-ounce cans and on draft
- Baseglamp (collab with WeldWerks) – Smoked Stout with Marshmallow with Troubadour malt smoked using Medianoche barrels. Available in 16-ounce cans and on draft
- Stjørdalsøl – a Norwegian-Style Ale made with barley that is grown and malted by Colorado Malting Company that is then smoked over European-sourced alderwood. Available in 12-ounce cans and on draft
“Thank you to our guests and brewery community,” says Proff. “I’m excited for the future!”
