Fifty West Brewing Co. is adding extra winter cheer to its Cincinnati craft beer operations with the opening of its upgraded ice-skating rink, curling leagues, Santa visits and lots more. The key attraction is that family-friendly 40- by 80-ft rink, one of our favorite holiday attractions, featuring enhanced ice quality and new skates. It just opened on November 21. For $10, guests can enjoy an hour of skating, and that includes skate rentals, which is a frickin’ deal. But it takes planning: The rink operates on a timed reservation system, and that’s a good thing as it will only have a max 70 skaters per hour, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience. Tickets are available online at fiftywestbrew.com or onsite — with free admission for children under four.
It’s not just skating. The grand opening on November 22 featured a Friendsgiving Beer Curling night, where participants rented a curling lane and enjoyed discounted beer buckets. Following that, beer curling leagues run from November 27th to January 18th, adding a competitive edge to the festivities. From the press release:
Fifty West Founder Bobby Slattery expressed the brewery’s commitment to creating lasting holiday memories, stating, “We want Fifty West to be a place where families can come together and create cherished moments throughout the holiday season. This rink is an extension of our dedication to providing a fun community hub for all ages.”
The winter campus is a haven for holiday spirit, featuring a heated tent, fire pits, party cabanas, festive decorations and kid-friendly beverages with adult options. Additionally, Santa Claus will visit on select dates in December, offering a perfect photo opportunity and holiday cheer. Fifty West is great at creating these excellent family and sporting activities into its brand. It has volleyball and pickleball leagues. The brewery even has a Fleet Feet right on its Cincinnati Burger Bar campus. These are all just great reasons to visit and then revisit the craft brewery’s Cincinnati and Chillicothe locations. From the press release:
Columbia Township Trustee and President David Kubicki expressed excitement about the ongoing partnership with Fifty West, saying, “Our collaboration with Fifty West is a win-win, enhancing our small businesses’ ability to provide valuable, family-friendly programming like this ice rink for the residents of Columbia Township and beyond. We couldn’t be more thrilled!”
Fifty West Brewing’s continued dedication to community engagement and festive celebration is once again evident in this annual winter venture, providing a unique blend of outdoor fun and craft beer culture. Now, let’s enjoy some photos.
