Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and Fat Head’s Brewery recently announced a partnership. The collaboration kicked off with two, limited run beers the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned and Cinnamon Toast Dopplebock. Aged in a Bulleit 10 barrel, the barrel-aged old fashioned offers notes of dried stone fruit, oak, vanilla, maple syrup, dark cocoa, and warming alcohol. It’s finished with cherries and bitter and sweet orange peel for a distinctive twist. The Cinnamon Toast Dopplebock was aged in rye whiskey barrels, and has flavors of rye spice, pumpernickel bread, caramel, toffee, and toasted marshmallows; and finishes with cinnamon and vanilla. Fat Head’s fans in Pennsylvania can find these newest highly-limited beers at select retailers, bars and restaurants in the greater Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Harrisburg metros starting in early November.
Fat Head’s Brewery was founded in 2009 – a partnership between Pittsburgh restaurateur and craft beer enthusiasts Glenn and Michelle Benigni and Cleveland, OH-based Master Brewer, Matt Cole. It evolved from a brewpub to a full-fledged production facility in 2012 and produces approximately 50,000 bbls at its current facility. Since its debut, it is one of the most awarded breweries in the country with 44 awards at the World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival combined.
“We’ve long admired the craft of blending distinctive flavors, and partnering with Bulleit to create our new Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned and Cinnamon Toast Dopplebocks has been an incredible journey,” said Bill Wetmore, Sales and Marketing Director at Fat Head’s Brewery, “This collaboration allows us to create a dynamic beer-drinking experience, bringing together the best of both worlds in these two delicious new brews”.
To kick off the exciting partnership, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey and Fat Head’s Brewery hosted an event for local media and beer enthusiasts, celebrating the timeless tradition of enjoying a great beer and a shot of Bulleit Bourbon. Attendees had the exclusive privilege of being the first to taste Fat Head’s newest beers, the Barrel Aged Old Fashioned and Cinnamon Toast Dopplebock.
“We’re thrilled to announce this partnership with Fat Head’s Brewery,” said Adam Geissler, Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Brand Ambassador. “We’ve always been fans of a beer and a shot, especially when the beer is crafted by such a dedicated and thoughtful team like at Fat Head’s. Their long history of creating unique beers and knowledge in the field made us incredibly excited to kick-off this partnership, and we can’t wait to see, and taste, the awesome liquids we produce.”
