Last year, thousands of music fans came together to enjoy six diverse shows at scenic Riverfront Park in downtown Harrisburg, Pa., when Tröegs Independent Brewing teamed up with Harrisburg University of Science and Technology for its annual concert series. Well, Tröegs and the Harrisburg University Summer Concert Series are back this year, and the lineup is legit, including Jason Isbell, The Roots and the Head and the Heart.
“After a successful season in 2022, we jumped at the chance to partner with Harrisburg University again this year,” says Tröegs co-founding brother Chris Trogner. “A beautiful outdoor venue, great music, and local beer … what more could you ask for?”
Agreed, Chris. And HU Presents is the perfect partner — a leading source in Central PA for indie music and entertainment’s biggest names. A great marketing opportunity for Tröegs.
“We’re thrilled to partner with such an iconic regional brewery like Tröegs to present the fourth installment of our Summer Concert Series,” said Frank Schofield, HU Director of Live Entertainment and Media Services. “I’m really excited about the lineup so far. We still have a few more shows to confirm, so keep an eye out for more concert announcements!”
Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with special guest S.G. Goodman kicks off this year’s concert series on Wednesday, July 26. Formerly a member of Drive-By Truckers, Jason and his band will serve up a blend of introspective storytelling and good old Southern grit.
Other confirmed shows include the return of Philadelphia hip-hop legends The Roots on Saturday, July 29, and acclaimed Seattle indie folk band The Head and the Heart on Saturday, August 26.
“Our brewery was founded in Harrisburg, and this partnership gives us an opportunity to support the community where our fans and co-workers live, work and play,” says Trogner.
