My brain requires cleaning multiple times a day. So, I specifically schedule activities throughout my day that are geared toward clearing my head. Before I jump on my computer each morning, I take a walk around my neighborhood to start my day-night cycle and mentally plan my work goals. I’ll take an hour each afternoon to exercise, venting off brain chatter and any thoughts of disappearing from society completely. It’s very therapeutic.
Today’s exercise included a flight around the Doemens Academy — a prestigious beer school in Munich, Germany. It was very calming. I highly suggest watching the video above. It’s a drone flight around the new location of the Doemens Academy, which just opened last year, scored to some stony downtempo beats. I think I might have nodded off at some point but felt 200 percent better when waking up. Thanks Siebel Institute of Technology for tossing this up on YouTube.
Ah yes, The World Brewing Academy was established in 2001 as an alliance between the Doemens Academy (Munich) and the Siebel Institute of Technology (Chicago). The new Doemens Academy building in Gräfelfing opened in the fall of 2021, and it looks posh. The new facility includes:
- A badass brewing center (Technikum) with pilot and training brewery (5 hl), including fermentation and storage cellar/filtration, malthouse, filling and packaging pilot plant
- Cafeteria with kitchen and dining hall
- Service laboratory with rooms for microbiology and biotechnology
- Practical training labs
- Multiple seminar rooms
From the video, it even looks like they have a beer garden. For more info on the Doemens Academy, roll over here. Feel free to go on ahead. I might be here a while.
