Arizona-based Huss Brewing Co. is opening an all-new craft beer taproom, full-service restaurant, and dedicated to-go counter at the Phoenix Convention Center. This new taproom is a combined effort with Aventura Catering and the City of Phoenix, and it will be housed inside an indoor-outdoor space carved into the north façade on Monroe Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
I was recently in Phoenix for work, and saw the COMING SOON banner. Looked awesome, but I could only longingly stare from the outside. Seeing these food pics has only increased my FOMO. I just missed it!
The Huss Brewpub at the Phoenix Convention Center has been a longtime, personal passion project for the Tempe, Ariz., brewery, says Huss Brewing Co. co-owner, Leah Huss. “Jeff and I have been working on this project for almost four years,” Leah says, referring to her husband and Brewmaster, Jeff Huss. “It has been a joy working with the Phoenix Convention Center and Aramark’s Aventura Catering throughout the process of putting this dream together. Most importantly, we’re looking forward to being a part of the downtown Phoenix community and helping the revitalization of the area, especially bringing a vibrant nightlife back to downtown’s sports, arts, and events community.”
Offering a full menu of hearty dishes showcasing Arizona-sourced ingredients, paired with the award-winning Huss’ Family of Beers, the new Huss Brewpub will be downtown’s tastiest destination for convention goers, visitors and locals attending sporting events, concerts, performances and more, while also allowing those on the go to quickly pick up their favorite food and beer combinations.
“We are very excited for the highly-anticipated opening of Huss Brewing Co. at the Phoenix Convention Center and the opportunity it provides for locals and visitors to downtown Phoenix to come together and enjoy delicious food and award-winning local beer, all in a unique and inviting setting,” says Danielle Lazor, Vice President, West Region, at Aramark Sports + Entertainment.
Nibbles on the Brewpub menu will include the Rustic Giant Pretzel with Cactus Valley Beer Cheese, Almost Famous Black Bean Nachos, and a Crispy Shrimp Cocktail, with the stars of the menu being the Huss Signature Smashburger and the Scottsdale Blonde Local Haus Bratwurst from Schreiners Sausages.
When it comes to the beer at Huss Brewpub, guests will enjoy a wide variety of fresh, quality beers, including Papago Orange Blossom, one of Arizona’s most popular beers, U.S. Open medal winner, Scottsdale Blonde, Oktoberfest (2019 Silver medal winner at the Great American Beer Fest in the American-style Amber Lager category), and Copper State IPA. Huss’ newest venture, Arizona Ranch Water, will also be available.
“The Phoenix Convention Center is one of Downtown Phoenix’ most visible points of pride, and we are thrilled that they will now house a beloved local company with Huss Brewing Co.,” says Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “This new location will help further showcase the strength of our community’s craft beer industry to the millions of visitors who come to our city each year.”
As part of their grand opening, Huss Downtown will be selecting one lucky person to win a “Season Table at the Brewpub” which includes a four-person reservation for 24 games. These reservations will ensure a table for four people on busy game days in Downtown Phoenix. The winner will be chosen on social media on April 18, just in time for the hometown Phoenix Suns playoff rally. Following that announcement, Huss Brewpub will also make a limited number of “season table” reservations (in 6-pack, 12-pack and 24-pack quantities) available for purchase.
