Direct-to-consumer platform Commerce7 is combining beverage alcohol sales brainpower with VineSpring, acquiring the innovative ecommerce company this week. VineSpring, founded in 2011, provides subscription and ecommerce technology to help wineries, breweries and distilleries turn one-time customers into recurring members.
“At Commerce7, we continue to push the bar with our platform to provide wineries with the best-in-class customer experience,” says Andrew Kamphuis, president of Commerce7. “We are excited to bring VineSpring’s support team and allocation tools to our company. We will combine VineSpring’s strengths with our customer experience software to offer more value for all wineries through enhanced customer support as well as a more feature rich platform.”
“This acquisition is great for existing clients and for the industry as a whole,” says Chris Towt, CEO and co-founder of VineSpring. “Instead of building many of the same features, integrations and innovations separately, we now get to combine our strengths and align our visions to build the best beverage alcohol DTC platform possible. It’s a natural fit that will result in more capabilities our clients get to take advantage of, and an incredibly strong company that anyone selling beverage alcohol can depend on.”
The Commerce7 and VineSpring teams will be combined and working together to move customers over to the Commerce7 platform during the summer. Wineries using VineSpring can expect to be contacted in the coming days for more details.
“The wine and beverage alcohol industries as a whole will benefit from the sale of VineSpring to Commerce7. Together we are making it accessible for wineries to provide the best shopping experiences possible, regardless of channel,” says Kamphuis.
