Full remarks by Sprecher Brewery CEO Sharad Chadha:
“It’s great to be with you today, and I want to thank Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley and Milwaukee County Parks Executive Director Guy Smith for joining us here at Sprecher Brewery.
On behalf of Sprecher Brewery, I am proud to announce and welcome our 9th year of partnership with our good friends at Milwaukee County for the 2022 Traveling Beer Garden. We want everyone we reach throughout the country to know that we take pride in our roots and our home here in Milwaukee. This partnership with the County Parks helps contribute to a vibrant community.
It’s been two years since a group of local investors purchased Sprecher Brewery. In that time, we’ve built on three decades of heritage as we write the next chapter in this great company, which includes a commitment to our community. Since 2015, Sprecher Brewery’s partnership has funded nearly a quarter-million dollars for park improvement projects, including installing energy-efficient lighting, bike path re-paving, ADA bathrooms, tree planting and much more. This partnership is a great example of why we do what we do at Sprecher. It’s what we mean when we say we Brew Good Things.
Sprecher has been part of the Milwaukee story for 37 years. In 1985, we opened as the first craft brewery in Milwaukee since prohibition. Today, we have doubled our workforce, helped employees purchase their first homes and continued our commitment to charitable causes and local events, including providing our delicious craft beer at the 10 stops for the Traveling Beer Garden. After you enjoy a pint or two or three of Sprecher at the Traveling Beer Garden, keep an eye out for our newly designed cans of craft beer such as Abbey Triple, Special Amber or Black Bavarian at your local store. We continue to build on our craft beer tradition to this day.
Finally, I want to thank our Milwaukee community for the loyal support and for spreading the word about our amazing craft beer and craft soda, and the good times with friends and family at the Traveling Beer Garden this summer. We couldn’t do it without you, and we appreciate you. Cheers to the summer, Sprecher, the County Parks and the Traveling Beer Garden season!”
