It’s Tuesday? Dang, gotta get back into the groove already. I’ve got an extensive overview of the Michigan hop industry to write, but I’m just zoning out and watching Kevin Kowalski, a professional skateboarder from Seal Rock, Ore., surf the new concrete skatepark in Newport, Ore., home to Rouge Ales and Spirits. Double dang.
Last year, Rogue Ales joined forces with Dreamland Skateparks to brew Dreamland American Lager. We covered it. Proceeds from the beer go directly towards building skateparks in local communities around the world. The partnership’s first project can be seen above. After almost three years of fundraising and working with the City of Newport, Kowalski, Rogue and Dreamland were able to break ground and complete the unfinished Newport Skatepark. As we reported earlier this year:
Due to Dreamland Lager sales and this partnership, Phase 2 renovations of the Newport Skatepark have been completed, which include finishing the 2,000-sq-ft perimeter, adding new skateable features and laying concrete for a safer ride. And this is only the beginning, Rogue and Dreamland plan to refurbish skateparks across the country.
Learn more above while enjoying Kowalski redefining various laws of gravity and cool.
