JLL announced today the successful purchase of 512 E 18th Street by Border Brewing Company. The microbrewery is relocating to the 6,483-square-foot inline retail site from its original location one block east at 406 E 18th Street in Kansas City.
“I’m excited about this next step for Border Brewing Company, and ecstatic that we were able to find a location so close by,” said Eric Martens, Owner/Brewer, Border Brewing Company. “We’ll be expanding our operation while staying in the Crossroads Arts District in the heart of all of the breweries, distilleries, and wineries that are here. In addition to expanding our taproom, production, and canning operation, we are looking forward to tackling several new projects next year that were previously shelved due to space limitations.”
Considered a Kansas City mainstay, Border Brewing Company was the first brewery taproom to open in the Crossroads in the local trade area now known as Brewer’s Alley. Despite current market conditions due to COVID-19, Border Brewing continues to reach capacity and needed additional space to accommodate the demand.
JLL’s Anné Erickson represented Border Brewing Company in the sale and Keller Williams Key Partners’ Curtis Jay represented the seller.
“The company quickly established its canning capacity and take-out brews as social distancing measures went into effect,” said Anné Erickson, Senior Associate, JLL. “Border Brewing exhibited its ability to adapt and pivot during disruptive times and I am thrilled I could assist them as they continue to thrive.”
