Craft brewers continue to find new and unorthodox niches. A great example: Shmaltz’s American Jewish Celebration Beer is the first and only Jewish celebration beer brewed in the United States, said Jeremy Cowan, founder of Shmaltz Brewing Co. It is high-end craft beer marketed to the Jewish community or anybody who get’s a “kick out of the shtick” of American Jewish Celebration Beer, says Cowan.
This is a pretty fun interview from Fox Business. “We get the question all the time. Do Jews drink beer?” asked Cowan. “So it’s been important for me to create a high-end Jewish beer that celebrates our traditions and our calendar and is something we can bring to events.” Last year alone, Shmaltz beer sold 125,000 cases and did $3.5 million in sales.
